Hello!
As many may already know my name is Jennifer Garduno. I am a current first generation senior animation student at College for Creative Studies, as well as 2D Character Animator and Storyboard Artist residing in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Prior to attending CCS I was a self taught artist that enjoyed drawing portraits and fanart of my favorite animated characters. However much of the work I produce now mainly consists of animated shorts, quick storyboards of films I have planned for the future and character designs for in-progress films. I have also worked on logo designs for small businesses such as Don Guichos Kitchen and Magic Touch Fiesta. Now although much of my work is 2D heavy based I have the intention to expand the use of style and mediums in my work in the future such as doing 3D and stop motion animation as well as character clay modeling.
My artwork right now, specifically my films, primarily focus a lot on who I am as a human being, and how I perceive the world to be in my eyes. From showcasing my own deepest struggles with mental health to showcasing the love and appreciation I have for my family and friends. Mainly focusing on the characters body language above all I like to push their expressions to the point the audience feels like the 2D character is truly alive and living the entire moment. I create shorts rather than creating long films with the intention that it gives the illusion or the feeling that you, as the audience, are seeing a small slice of my own memory, like a flashback. The purpose of my films is to connect with my audience on a personal level and either remind them of a precious memory of their own or simply make them feel inspired to create something.
